--- Personal Quotes ---
"I wasn’t a friendly child. I was reserved and mostly kept to myself. My family tells me they’ve noticed
a sea change in me after I’ve grown up. But I guess that’s natural. Your surroundings, friends, college,
etc. do make a lot of difference to your personality."
"I’m a diehard romantic. My idea of romance revolves around everything I’ve grown up watching in our
Bollywood movies. Our romances are like fairy tales, something that every romantic freak, especially
girls would love to experience."
"Comparisons are inevitable whether I like it or not. I think the best way to go about it is to concentrate
on what I do and not shift my focus. I only want to better myself as an actor because I am here living
out my childhood dream. I want to look back and say that yes I made it happen my way."
"I would like to do any kind of role. I would like to believe that I can be moulded into any kind of role.
There is nothing in particular that I want to do."
"I like to dabble in something that fits naturally with me and not emulate anybody else. I feel like I
can make a place of my own just the way actresses today have been doing."
"My entire family is extremely supportive of what I decide to do. I wanted to drop out of college so
they supported me in that. My mom is my best friend, so I can talk about anything to her."
"Cheating is a definite no-no. My man has to be all mine or never mind!"
"You can’t cheat on me and then expect me to take you back. In fact, cheating shouldn’t be acceptable
to anyone."
"I’ve big shoes to fill, so what if Baaps didn’t take the quintessential route to stardom? He is a star in
his own right. My aunt Padmini (actress Padmini Kolhapure) is another big name in the family that I
have to live up to. And then, I just had a hit! Being Shakti Kapoor’s daughter doesn’t mean there are
no expectations, and pressures."
"Who am I to reject an offer to work with John or Akshay? I have grown up loving Shah Rukh Khan,
Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar… and wishing one day that I get a film with them. I don’t have a problem
romancing older heroes on screen. That is not even a question in my mind. What has age got to do
with that anyway? If I’m convinced about my character, I will do my best to be true to it."
"I know there are newcomers pouring in big numbers but I want my work to be appreciated. For that,
I have to concentrate on it. People will hate me and like me, and make space for me accordingly. And
that is not in my hands after a point. The good thing is that with so many new people, there is new
energy, new ideas and lots of smaller and moderate-sized films which provide opportunities to all of
us, including me. So, if I will have a chance anyway, why bother about who debuted last Friday? It’s
a waste of energy."
"I've always loved romantic films. I'm crazy about them."
"I like to compete with myself and let my work do the talking."
"I love to splurge. If I fall in love with a particular thing, then there's no stopping me from acquiring it.
More than shopping and acquiring new things, I strongly believe in reusing and restyling vintage pieces.
Luckily, my mom and aunts have a beautiful collection of vintage pieces which they gift me sometimes,
and which I love to use. I have a pretty good collection of shoes and accessories."
"Although I love to dress up, a very striking part of my dressing is that it is very individualistic. I could
wear anything from jeans to shorts to maxi skirts or dresses, but the styling is the most important part,
ie how to team things and put an outfit together."
"My style of dressing is extremely personal. I am impressionable only to a certain extent. The rest of
it is my personal concoction consisting of my favourite trends."
"Drinking is a stress reliever for a lot of people (but) I just don't like alcohol."
"I’ve never crushed on any of my co-stars!"
"Real life Shraddha depends with whom I am. I don’t open up easily. My childhood friends know how I am."
"I was the pampered child. In fact, my dad pampered me too. Maybe, because I was the only girl in the
family. In fact, when my father sees me today, he can’t believe that I’m working so hard since I always
led a sheltered life. Recently, he told me he believes there’s a boy hidden in me somewhere. Like I am
both his daughter and son. That feels nice."
"Lack of etiquette and manners is a huge turn off. Men who don’t behave decently are irrtating. Also,
I don’t like guys who show off. When will guys realise that girls hate show offs."
